Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Local Delivery Truck Driver! We are a building material distributor looking for a driver to make deliveries to our customer's shops and job sites.
When not on deliveries, you will assist in our warehouse with tasks such as unloading incoming trucks, loading customers and general warehouse organization.
Guaranteed the opportunity to work 40 hours per week.
Typical hours are Mon - Fri 7am - 3pm.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a flatbed truck and operate a donkey forklift.
- Drive local routes to deliver material promptly and accurately to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of freight.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during route driving and delivery operations.
- Communicate effectively with operations and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with air brake endorsement.
- Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and physical.
- Minimum 2 years driving experience.
- Must have a clean DMV record and be able to provide documentation of such.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using equipment such as forklifts or manual methods.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift 100 lbs.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling.
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
- Must be able to read, write and do basic math functions.
- Physical ability to handle cargo loads and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
