Summary
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Capitol Visitor Center (CVC), Retail Division. The Assistant Director of Retail supports the Director of Retail in managing the day-to-day operations and program execution of the CVC Gift Shops, warehouse operations, and eCommerce program.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service (or equivalent experience) that includes: Managing or overseeing retail operations, merchandising programs, or commercial services environments Implementing merchandising strategies, including product selection, pricing, inventory management, or visual presentation Analyzing sales data or operational metrics to support business decisions Supervising staff, team leads, or work units, including assigning work and evaluating performance Supporting eCommerce or digital retail operations and coordinating with operational or technical stakeholders Coordinating day-to-day operations across multiple functional areas (retail, logistics, customer service, or systems support)
