The Role
We are seeking a Project Architect / Technical Project Lead to take ownership of project documentation, consultant coordination, and the approvals process. The Role
We are seeking a Project Architect / Technical Project Lead to take ownership of project documentation, consultant coordination, and the approvals process. This role is critical to the growth of the firm and will work closely with the Head of Design to translate design intent into fully realized, buildable projects.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture and wants meaningful responsibility within a design-driven studio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production of full architectural drawing sets (SD through CD)
- Manage NYC DOB & LPC filing and approvals processes
- Coordinate with MEP, structural, and other consultants
- Develop and resolve complex architectural details
- Oversee and mentor junior team members
- Ensure drawing quality, consistency, and completeness
- Interface with construction team during bidding and construction phases, managing RFIs and conducting site visits as appropriate
- 6 - 10 years of professional experience in architecture
- Licensed architect (preferred but not required for the right candidate)
- Strong technical and detailing skills
- Proven experience producing and managing full construction document sets
- Experience with NYC DOB/LPC filings and approvals strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Revit is a must
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills with clients and consultants
- Ownership mindset - you take projects and run with them (in collaboration with the Head of Design)
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems without constant oversight
