This role is critical to maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-coordinated environment across all trades, with heavy emphasis on electrical, mechanical, and high-risk construction activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and able to build strong relationships with field teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily on-site safety operations for a fast-paced, mission-critical construction project
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client-specific safety requirements
- Conduct daily safety walks, audits, and inspections across all active work areas
- Manage Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), LOTO procedures, hot work permits, confined space permits, and other high-risk activity controls
- Facilitate site-specific safety orientations, weekly toolbox talks, and ongoing training sessions
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, preparing reports and corrective action plans
- Maintain thorough documentation: inspection logs, safety reports, permits, and regulatory files
- Coordinate with project management, general contractor, subcontractors, and owner reps to enforce safety expectations
- Support commissioning and energization activities, ensuring proper controls are in place
- Monitor site housekeeping, access control, PPE compliance, and emergency-response readiness
- Advocate for a consistent, positive safety culture across all crews and trades
- 5 years of construction safety experience (data center or mission-critical preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical safety, MEP systems, and industrial construction practices
- OSHA 30 required; CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications strongly preferred
- Experience with high-risk procedures such as LOTO, energized work, crane/lift operations, and confined space
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, train, and build rapport across field teams
- Strong documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with multiple contractors and shifting priorities
- Experience on hyperscale data center projects (Meta, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, etc.)
- Familiarity with owner-specific safety programs and commissioning protocols
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis and incident investigation methodologies
- Ability to interpret and apply EPC/general-contractor safety requirements
