Position Overview:

The Senior Tax Accountant will play a key role in preparing complex tax returns, collaborating directly with clients, and supporting general accounting functions. This individual will also assist with QuickBooks-related tasks and provide guidance to junior team members as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a small-firm setting where flexibility and client service are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns.
  • Meet with clients to gather information, discuss tax planning opportunities, and provide general guidance.
  • Assist clients with QuickBooks setup, troubleshooting, and ongoing bookkeeping support.
  • Conduct tax research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and general accounting duties as needed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA eligibility strongly preferred).
  • 3–5 years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software and QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong client relationships.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • 4 years tax experience
  • Strong leadership and client skills

Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
