Senior Accountant (Remote)

$35–$40 per hour

About Us

Archer Lewis Accounting is a small, growth-oriented CPA firm based in Anchorage, Alaska. We provide comprehensive accounting services to a wide range of clients and are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant who can work independently, deliver exceptional client service, and contribute to a collaborative team environment. This is a fully remote position.

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will oversee full-cycle accounting for an assigned group of clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely completion of all deliverables. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident managing multiple clients at once, and proficient in navigating client communication and workflow in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple clients, including AP, AR, reconciliations, payroll entries, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date books in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Support tax preparation work when needed, including cleanup and schedules
• Communicate proactively with clients to gather information, resolve issues, and provide guidance
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a high-quality client experience
• Provide mentorship or guidance to junior staff as needed (preferred but not required)
  
  

Required Qualifications

• More than 2–3 years of public accounting experience, managing full-cycle accounting for 15–20 or more clients
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO); this is required
• Solid understanding of GAAP and small-business accounting practices
• Proven ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and client service skills
