What You’ll Do
As a Senior Manager, you will set a strategic direction for the tax and accounting functions while leading and developing a high-performing team of professionals. You will serve as a primary technical authority on complex federal, state, local, and international tax matters, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations while driving advanced tax planning strategies that optimize financial outcomes. In this role, you will provide expert guidance for tax compliance and consulting, as well as the office’s accounting function (reviews and compilations). Additionally, you will play a key role in strengthening client relationships, supporting business development initiatives, and improving processes to enhance efficiency and profitability, all while fostering a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and continuous growth.
- Provide strategic leadership, setting direction, priorities, and goals aligned with business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and help develop a team of professionals (managers, seniors, and staff), overseeing performance management, resource planning, and talent development and retention.
- Serve as technical authority and final reviewer for complex federal, state, local, and international tax matters, including corporate, partnership, and individual returns.
- Design and execute advanced tax planning strategies to optimize tax positions, reduce liabilities, and support long-term financial efficiency.
- Provide high-level advisory support on complex transactions, audits, restructurings, and regulatory changes for clients and senior leadership.
- Manage assurance and accounting engagements, including year end reviews and compilations
- Lead and develop staff (interns to managers) on assurance engagements, fostering technical growth and excellence.
- Drive business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, supporting proposal development, and expanding existing client relationships within the tax advisory space (public accounting focus).
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborate with principals on engagement management, quality control, and strategic initiatives.
- Manage budgets and billings for engagements.
- Monitor performance and ensure profitability targets are achieved.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred. A CPA certification is preferred for this level of responsibility. A Master’s Degree or similar advanced degree is desirable.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience, with significant time spent in a management or supervisory capacity, in either a public accounting environment or a corporate accounting or tax department.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in tax law and reporting requirements. Strong proficiency with enterprise-level tax software (CCH Axcess) and advanced data analysis tools. Knowledge of GAAP and GAAP reporting.

- Business Acumen: Strong business judgment, entrepreneurial spirit, and a proven track record of managing profitable engagements/departments.

- Base salary of $145,000 - $185,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience)
