Job Summary:
ADM Animal Nutrition, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company, is an industry leader in the manufacture of extruded treats and foods for the companion animal market. We are seeking a Production (Warehouse) Supervisor for the Kansas City, KS warehouse and production facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Active, hands-on involvement and daily presence within the facility handling packaging, distribution, warehouse and delivery issues. Ensures employees are completing assignments as required by ADM and that they have the necessary tools and supplies to complete all required tasks.
- Works with quality technicians to help implement food safety / sanitation / quality programs to ensure that the facility is aligned with the law, regulatory requirements, and company programs along with continuously looking for improvements to the Quality programs.
- Works to find new and more efficient ways to manufacture, ship and control costs to help add value to ADM and the shareholders.
- Works with Plant Manager to ensure Safety training programs are being completed.
- Monitors the workplace for improvements, safety and personnel concerns.
- Respond to and follow up on customer complaints, while working alongside sales personnel on these issues.
- Hold Toolbox meetings on a weekly basis.
- Work closely with personnel dealing with scheduling, production and formulation issues.
- Responsible for backing up Superintendent in helping make everyday decisions and signing off on paperwork.
- Performs weekly Safety Operation Reports for the safety of the employees.
- Participates in inventory reconciliations and in the monthly sanitation / quality / GMP audits.
- Promotes Safety and Quality first, then production.
- Responsibility to identify food safety and/or product integrity issues and to initiate and record actions for issues reported.
- Responsibility to communicate and review any information deemed necessary, including but not limited to, food safety, product integrity, formulas, specifications and/or changes, with customers.
- Authority to purchase necessary chemicals and lubricants.
- Authority to communicate with suppliers, customers, contractors and organizations (including but not limited to regulatory and statutory organizations).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) and 1 – 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated leadership through change management, exhibits the 11 ADM leader skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to present material with energy and enthusiasm to motivate and influence people.
- Computer skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- History of working safely and a reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement efforts.
