Maintenance Helper assists skilled maintenance staff in performing routine inspections, repairs, and upkeep of facilities and equipment to ensure smooth and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical equipment
- Assist with installations of new equipment, fixtures, and machinery
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify issues and report them to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Handle tools and equipment safely and follow all safety protocols
- Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and recommending solutions
- Candidate must be able to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts be able to fill the different operator positions throughout the plant after a training period.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in maintenance or technical skills is a plus
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with hand and power tools and ability to use them safely
- Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc), lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Tasks can involve indoor and outdoor work, sometimes in challenging conditions such as heights, confined spaces, or extreme weather.
