Position Summary:
As an Elevator Supervisor, you will assist in all day-to-day activities of the elevator — including loading/unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, and storage of goods. You'll train and lead hourly employees in operations, safety, and facility maintenance, while initiating improvements to meet operational objectives. Maintaining a safe, sanitary workplace in compliance with company policies and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, etc.), along with establishing and maintaining preventive maintenance, sanitation, and operation schedules, will be central to your success in this role.

Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily elevator operations, including loading, unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, and storage
- Prioritize shift work and assign team resources based on experience, training, and capability
- Champion a culture of safety by actively participating in safety processes, conducting job hazard analyses, and maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, and other regulatory requirements
- Identify and address environmental, safety, and GMP hazards before they impact people, product quality, or the environment
- Develop and train hourly employees, actively investing in their proficiency and growth
- Use your mechanical and electrical knowledge to troubleshoot production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds
- Lead preventive maintenance scheduling, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime
- Partner with the Plant Superintendent on work schedule planning and execution
- Maintain documentation, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure corporate policies are followed in daily operations
- Collaborate with facility management to improve equipment reliability and overall operational effectiveness
- Stay current on industry regulations and codes relevant to elevator systems design and operation
- Foster open communication and strong morale across your shift and department
Position Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED, with relevant on-the-job experience in grain elevator or similar agricultural/industrial operations
- Experience leading or developing a team in an operations setting
- Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills — mechanical and electrical
- Familiarity with safety compliance and job hazard analysis
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write reports and document activities
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email)
Nice-to-haves:
- A bachelor's degree or technical certification in a relevant field preferred
- Prior supervisory experience in grain handling or agribusiness
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
