What are the responsibilities and job description for the Musician position at Archdiocese of St. Louis?
- Provide musical accompaniment for Sunday Mass, including preludes, hymns, psalms, and other liturgical music.
- Collaborate with the presider, lectors, and other liturgical ministers to ensure a cohesive worship experience.
- Lead and support congregational singing throughout the liturgy.
- Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled Sunday services (7:30–9:30 AM).
- Maintain a reverent, welcoming, and professional presence during all liturgical celebrations.
- Select or prepare music in alignment with parish liturgical guidelines, when applicable.
- Proficiency in piano, organ, or another primary liturgical instrument.
- Experience providing music in a church or worship setting preferred.
- Strong sense of timing, musicality, and liturgical awareness.
- Ability to lead and encourage congregational participation.
- Reliability and commitment to Sunday morning availability (7:30–9:30 AM).
- Alignment with the mission and values of St. Peter Claver and the Catholic Church.
