Job Summary

The Middle School Spanish Teacher is responsible for delivering a comprehensive Spanish language program for grades 6–8 that emphasizes vocabulary development, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. This role focuses on preparing students for continued language study while promoting cultural awareness and global understanding. The teacher will support the academic, social, and spiritual growth of students in alignment with the mission and values of Catholic education.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality Spanish instruction aligned with Archdiocesan and school curriculum standards.
• Develop engaging, age‑appropriate lessons that build foundational vocabulary, grammar skills, and cultural understanding.
• Introduce students to the traditions, history, and Catholic heritage present in Spanish‑speaking cultures.
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation, curiosity, and respect.
• Use a variety of assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs across multiple grade levels.
• Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, grades, and communication with families.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators on curriculum planning, school initiatives, and student support.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and staff.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and schoolwide events.
• Model and uphold the values of Catholic education and contribute to the faith life of the school community.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field required.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, with the ability to teach and explain language concepts clearly to middle school learners.
• Valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification preferred.
• Prior teaching experience in middle school or world language instruction preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to the mission, values, and traditions of Catholic education.
