Job Summary
St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Gildehaus is seeking a mission-driven Middle School Science and Language Arts Teacher for grades 6–8. This educator will provide engaging, rigorous instruction in both content areas while fostering critical thinking, literacy development, and a love of learning. The ideal candidate supports the mission of Catholic education and creates a structured, faith-centered classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of students.

Job Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in science and language arts aligned with curriculum standards
- Design engaging lessons, including hands-on science activities and literacy-based learning experiences
- Support student growth in reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
- Use a variety of assessments to monitor progress and provide timely feedback
- Incorporate technology and instructional strategies to enhance learning
- Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, grades, and student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary planning and student support
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration
- Foster a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
- Model and uphold the mission and values of Catholic education
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, English/Language Arts, or related field required
- Valid Missouri teaching certification (or eligibility)
- Experience teaching middle school students preferred
- Strong understanding of literacy instruction and STEM-based learning
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to support diverse learners and adapt instruction as needed
- Commitment to Catholic education and student faith formation
