Job Summary
Ascension Catholic Church, Chesterfield is seeking a compassionate and reliable Instructional Aide to support classroom teachers and enhance the learning experience for students during the 2025–26 school year. The instructional aide will assist with instruction, classroom management, and student supervision, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the values of Catholic education. Job Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to individual students and small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Assist with classroom activities, student engagement, and lesson implementation.
- Support students with varying academic needs by reinforcing lessons and helping with assignments.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch, and transitions.
- Help maintain an organized, safe, and clean classroom environment.
- Prepare instructional materials and assist with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, and grading.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Uphold the mission and values of Ascention Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or associate degree in education or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Ability to follow teacher direction and school procedures with consistency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Commitment to supporting a faith-based, inclusive educational environment.
- Willingness to complete Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements, including background check and training.
