Job Summary
Job Title: Coordinator of Youth Ministry
Location: Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, St. Louis, MO
Reports to: Pastor
Position Schedule: Varied; includes evening and weekend hours
Salary: $22,500
The Coordinator of Youth Ministry directs and supports a vibrant parish‑based ministry for middle school (grades 6–8) and high school youth (grades 9–12). This role focuses on forming young disciples of Jesus Christ through relational ministry, catechesis, service opportunities, and community‑building. The youth minister will develop, coordinate, and implement programs that promote faith, leadership, and engagement with the broader parish community. A successful candidate will be energetic, organized, collaborative, and passionate about Catholic youth ministry.

Duties & Responsibilities
Includes but is not limited to the following:
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support youth ministry volunteers; provide leadership training for youth and adults.
- Develop and coordinate dynamic programming such as:
- Weekly Bible studies for grades 6–12
- Monthly formation nights
- Social events and community‑building activities
- Annual retreat
- Pilgrimages offered by the Archdiocese (e.g., Solidarity at the Border, Sankofa)
- Summer service trip (e.g., Catholic Heart Work Camp, One Bread One Cup)
- Youth‑led Masses in partnership with the Pastor and Liturgy Director
- Monthly service projects
- Foster strong relationships with youth and their families; encourage parental involvement and communication.
- Encourage youth participation in parish life and create opportunities for them to serve within the larger parish community.
- Coordinate fundraising activities to support youth ministry programs.
- Manage communications, finances, and program records in collaboration with parish staff.
- Represent the parish at diocesan youth ministry gatherings and collaborate with neighboring parishes as needed.
- Maintain active relational ministry by engaging with youth individually and in small groups.
- Practicing Catholic with a strong personal relationship with Jesus and love for the Church
- Passion for working with middle school and high school youth
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent ministry experience
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of parish stakeholders
- Participation in the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Program (may be completed after hiring)
