Saint Cecilia Catholic School is seeking a caring, organized, and energetic individual to serve as our Afterschool Care Director. This position is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students after the school day while supporting the mission and values of our Catholic school community.
The Afterschool Care Director oversees the daily operation of the program, supervises students and staff, plans age-appropriate activities, communicates with families, and ensures all students are cared for in a positive, respectful, and nurturing environment.
Schedule
The Afterschool Care Director follows the school calendar and is not scheduled to work during school breaks.
Typical hours include:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 3:00pm-6:00pm
- Thursday (early dismissal): 2:00pm-6:00pm
- Half-day dismissals: 12:00pm-3:00pm
Additional hours may be available for planning, meetings, or professional development.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the Afterschool Care Program.
- Provide a safe, caring, and engaging environment for students in Preschool through 8th Grade.
- Plan and facilitate a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
- Supervise students while maintaining appropriate staff-to-student ratios.
- Foster positive student behavior through clear expectations, consistency, and respectful interactions.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding student needs, behavior, and program information.
- Maintain attendance records, emergency contact information, and student sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and all health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space.
- Collaborate with the principal and school staff to support the overall mission of the school.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, recreation, or youth program setting.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain a calm, positive demeanor while supervising groups of children.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Successful completion of required background checks and Safe Environment training.
- Supportive of the mission and values of Catholic education.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
