Position Summary
The Second Grade Teacher is responsible for providing a nurturing, faith-centered learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of young learners. The teacher builds on the foundation for literacy, numeracy, and positive school habits while fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.

Salary
The range for this position is $50,666-$80,000. This position is full-time. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

Primary Responsibilities
- Teach core academic subjects and religion using engaging, structured instruction aligned with second grade curriculum standards
- Support literacy development through reading comprehension and writing skills
- Reinforce foundational math concepts and problem-solving strategies
- Encourage students' problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, inquiry-based learning and study skills
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and differentiate to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Use formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate and timely grading and documentation
- Monitor and support overall student behavior and classroom culture
- Maintain an organized, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, instructional aids and administration
- Evaluates each student's progress in academic and social skills, and communicates progress to parents through report cards and parent conferences
- Maintains professional competence through continuing education and self-selected professional growth activities.
- Adapts methods and materials to accommodate learning differences and plans for both long-term and short-term instructional goals.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field
- WA state teaching certificate
- Practicing Catholic
- Is proficient with Microsoft Office programs and integrates technology into lessons
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administration, families, and parish community
- Strong verbal and written communication, classroom management and organizational skills
- Commitment to supporting the academic, social, and spiritual development of students
