Employment Status: Part-Time/Less than 10 hours per week

ScheduleSchedule: Monday - Friday - varied schedule for approximately 3 hours per shift. Typically no more than 10 hours per week.
Reports to: Bookkeeper (for the church) and/or Childcare Coordinator (for the ministry organizing the activity).

Essential Functions
- Engage with, be patient with and enjoy work with children (ages 1-5 )
- Oversee intake and dismissal of children with their parents
- Monitor children's activities and create a safe environment
- Watch for signs of emotional stress and contact parent via text if necessary
- Organize child snack distribution and clean up
- Change diapers while maintaining the safety of the child(ren)
- Help children keep good hygiene
- Clean & disinfect items used, prior to end of shift
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and at times moderate levels of stress
- Keep focus and attention on children to avoid any preventable accidents
- Work as a team with others-including co-workers, children, parents, ministry coordinators and church staff
- Help with other duties and opportunities as they arise
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years
- Passionate about working with children
- Must pass both State and Archdiocesan background check
- Experience in childcare preferred
- 2 1/2 - 3 hours shifts on specific weekday, often in the mornings, only once every other week, and possibly some weekends.
- Required to work specific weekdays, often in the mornings, only once every other week, and possibly some weekends.
- 2 ½ - 3 hours per shift.
- Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, lift (up to 30 lbs), carry, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis.
- Required to monitor children in a noisy setting.
- Required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger.
