Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and nap routines as needed.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development through age-appropriate activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Observe and report any signs of illness, injury, or abuse according to center policies and Texas DFPS regulations.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Communicate respectfully and clearly with parents, staff, and supervisors.
- Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Preferred: Coursework or certification in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (e.g., CDA credential or equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with young children, preferably in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
- Completion of required Texas DFPS training hours in childcare, health, safety, and child abuse prevention.
- Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Must pass criminal background checks as required by Texas DFPS licensing.
- Provide proof of completed training and certifications.
- Submit any relevant education documentation.
- Provide contact information for at least three professional references.
- Full-time or part-time hours depending on facility needs.
- Ability to physically assist children (lifting, bending, sitting on the floor).
- Work in a busy, active childcare environment.
