Job Description

Holy Cross School is accepting applications for a Classroom aide.

The Aides works with Teachers to provide quality care, supervision, and engaging activities for young children in a group setting. The primary goal is to support the children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development while maintaining a safe, healthy, and organized environment.

Duties And Responsibilities- Child Care And Supervision

• Direct Supervision: Constantly monitor and supervise children during all activities (indoor, outdoor, snacks, play and homework) to ensure their safety at all times.
  
  

○ Assist Children With Essential Care Tasks, Including

○ Helping with snacks.

○ Helping children with personal hygiene practices, handwashing, sanitizing

○ Escorting Children to the pick door for parent pick up.

• Emotional Support: Provide comfort, encouragement, and emotional support to children as
  
  

needed.

• Engagement: Lead, assist or or participate in activities with students to create a playful but organized atmosphere.
• Behavior Guidance: Help teach and enforce positive behavior and social skills, using approved, positive behavior management techniques.
• Maintain Safety: Ensure the classroom and play areas are safe, clean, and free of hazards.
• Sanitation: Routinely clean, sanitize, and disinfect toys, equipment, and learning surfaces according to health and safety standards.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to administer basic first aid or CPR as needed (often requires certification) and alert the Administration to any emergencies.
• Substitute teach from time to time.
  
  

Communication and Administrative Support

• Staff Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the other staff members to ensure consistent and quality care.
• Parent Communication: Communicate with parents/guardians about their child's activities,
  
  

behavior, and basic needs upon pickup.

• Record Keeping: Assist with basic administrative tasks such as tracking attendance, recording
  
  

daily notes(when needed) , and updating and communicating child reports (when needed).

Qualifications

Good with children- FBI fingerprint, Child Abuse, and Criminal Background, ACT 126

Background clearances

DHS Childcare clearances

Practicing Catholic *Highly Preferred
