Mission Of The Position
The Social Media Coordinator assists in advancing the evangelizing mission of the Archdiocese of
New Orleans through strategic, creative, and mission-driven communications. The role exists not
simply to increase visibility, but to foster authentic encounter with Jesus Christ, deeper
discipleship, joyful missionary outreach, and a stronger sense of unity within the local Church
through digital media. In a rapidly changing digital culture, the Social Media Coordinator helps
communicate the Gospel in a way that is faithful, compelling, relational, deeply human, and
reflective of the unity of the local Church.

A background or experience in communications, marketing, branding, evangelization, public
relations, digital media, storytelling, or related fields is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years related experience with Bachelor's degree required. Experience in digital communications,
social media management, content creation, photography, videography, graphic design, marketing, or
related communications fields preferred. Familiarity with the mission and
teachings of the Catholic Church strongly preferred.
Essential Functions
Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive social media and digital
communications strategy that supports the evangelizing mission of the Archdiocese of New Orleans
Create engaging and mission-oriented content that promotes encounter with Jesus Christ,
discipleship, unity within the local Church, parish life, vocations, ministries, events, and
archdiocesan initiatives
Maintain and grow the Archdiocese's digital presence through social media, web
communications, photography, video, graphics, livestreams, and real-time event coverage
Develop and manage a strategic content calendar aligned with the liturgical year, and
archdiocesan priorities
Capture and produce high-quality photography, video, graphics, reels, interviews,
testimonials, and other multimedia content for digital platforms
Tell the stories of the people, ministries, parishes, schools, Catholic Charities, clergy, and
apostolates of the Archdiocese in a compelling way that fosters evangelization, unity, and
confidence in the local Church.
Monitor analytics, engagement, and digital trends to evaluate effectiveness and identify
opportunities for growth and evangelization
Research emerging digital platforms and technologies to discern their potential value in
advancing the Church's mission
Assist with livestreams, live event coverage, and real-time content creation during major
archdiocesan events and initiatives
Support collaborative communication efforts between archdiocesan offices, ministries,
parishes, schools, and agencies to strengthen a shared archdiocesan identity and mission.
Assisting with other tasks and special projects as requested

Photography and visual storytelling
Graphic design experience
Experience with social media analytics and platform management tools
