Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, KS, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School. This position is for a 6th Grade Social Studies and Science Teacher. The teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lessons in social studies and science, promoting critical thinking, and fostering a positive learning environment. Day-to-day tasks include creating lesson plans, delivering instruction, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to support student success. The teacher will also encourage curiosity and a love for learning in students while ensuring adherence to curricular standards.

• Strong expertise in Social Studies and Education to effectively deliver subject material.
• Proficient Analytical Skills and Research abilities to facilitate critical thinking and problem-solving in the classroom.
• Excellent Communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
• Ability to create a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field; teaching certification/licensure preferred.
• Experience teaching middle school students is highly desirable.
