Maintenance Technician Part-Time

Position Summary
Our Lady of Victory Parish in Northville is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of repairs and routine maintenance across our church, school, and parish facilities. The ideal candidate is a versatile, hands-on professional with a broad range of technical skills who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for our parish community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs
- Inspect buildings and facilities for damage or maintenance needs
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and safe environment across church, school, and parish grounds
- Assist with event setup and teardown for parish and school functions
- Support occasional special events throughout the year, including some weekends and holidays
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience in general maintenance or a related field
- Knowledge of basic building systems and repairs (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors during seasonal weather
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Completion of Protecting God’s Children training (provided)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electrical or plumbing maintenance
- Familiarity with faith-based or school environments
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems and email
