What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Team Member position at Archdiocese of Detroit?
Christ the Redeemer Parish Lake Orion is looking for a part time, skilled Maintenance team member to perform basic maintenance and janitorial tasks at the church and parish house. This is a part time job, approximately 15-19 hours a week, with flexible schedule.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Facilities and Grounds
- Basic lawn care, including mowing and trimming
- Clearing and salting sidewalks of snow during the winter, using parish equipment, such as snow blowers, salters and shovels
General Maintenance and Repair
- Perform minor repairs as needed
- Inspect facility daily, address concerns needing attention
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and organized work spaces
Miscellaneous
- Set up and tear down for parish events
- Complete maintenance requests
- Weekly janitorial duties
- Assist with changing liturgical decorations in the church
- Maintenance and waxing of church floor, including removing and adding chairs
Qualifications
- Proven experience as maintenance worker or other similar position
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity to life 50-75 pounds and climb ladders
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must submit to criminal background check, fingerprinting and complete Archdiocesan Safe Environment training prior to start
