Position: Elementary Intervention Specialist
Reports to: Elementary School Principal
Qualifications:
- Valid State Department of Education licensure/certificate
- Successful completion of Ohio’s Introduction to the Science of Reading/Dyslexia Professional Development courses.
- Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and compliance (IDEA, IEP requirements)
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state standards and district curriculum goals.
- Provides opportunities for all students to participate in an inclusive educational environment.
- Utilize and incorporate technology into lesson planning and instruction.
- Conduct screening and intervention procedures, assess their outcomes, and analyze the results.
- Use a data-driven approach to analyze assessments and alter/enhance lesson plans.
- Evaluate students’ academic needs and learning styles to identify opportunities for enhanced learning.
- Use formal and informal assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide meaningful, actionable feedback.
- Facilitate activities that promote teamwork, collaboration, and positive peer relationships.
- Be willing to participate in extracurricular activities and/or after school events.
- Embody high ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality in all professional conduct.
- Demonstrate a passion and desire to teach and inspire the students of Archbold Schools.
- Maintain a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
