Archbishop Hannan High School is seeking a dedicated, reliable Custodian to join our Facilities team. The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position plays a vital role in supporting the school's mission by ensuring that our campus remains a place where students and educators can learn, grow, and thrive.
Duties: The Custodian/Maintenance person fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by maintaining a neat, clean, safe, and organized environment. He or she assists the faculty, and staff by ensuring that the school is well maintained for its educational purpose. The position is hired and evaluated by the Director of Facilities.

Primary Responsibilities
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school;
- Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese;
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters;
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash on a scheduled basis.
- Maintain restrooms by cleaning fixtures, replenishing supplies, and ensuring proper sanitation.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleanup for school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Monitor and report maintenance issues such as leaks, broken fixtures, or safety hazards.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and interior surfaces as needed.
- Maintain custodial equipment and ensure proper storage of cleaning supplies.
- Follow established safety procedures and contribute to a secure campus environment.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Director and team to complete special projects and seasonal tasks.
- Conducts periodic maintenance activities and minor repairs as assigned;
- Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director or Facilities Supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to support the mission and values of Archbishop Hannan High School.
- Indoor and outdoor work across a multi-building campus.
- Evening or day shift depending on assignment; occasional weekend or special-event work may be required.
