Project Engineer (Residential Construction)
Location: Northern Colorado
Pay: $60,000 to $70,000 per year performance bonus

Overview
We are a residential outdoor living construction company specializing in decks, roof structures, and all things outdoor living
We are hiring a Project Engineer to own pre construction planning, scheduling, permitting, and project coordination.
This role ensures every project is fully planned, organized, and ready before construction begins.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre Construction Engineering & Planning
- Perform material takeoffs from construction plans
- Build detailed material lists and purchase orders
- Submit and track building permits
- Coordinate inspections with municipalities
- Build and manage 8 to 12 week project schedules
- Create 2 to 4 week construction look ahead schedules
- Schedule deliveries, dumpsters, and jobsite setup
- Lead internal project handoff meetings
Project Coordination
- Support construction manager with project execution needs
- Track project status and schedule adherence
- Assist with change orders, materials, and inspection coordination
- Lead daily coordination check ins with construction manager
Homeowner Communication
- Provide proactive communication to homeowners throughout the project
- Keep homeowners informed on permits, materials, inspections, and schedule updates
- Ensure clarity at every stage of the project
Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain project tracking systems and documentation
- Improve and optimize project management software
- Develop and refine internal workflows
- Track multiple projects across 8 to 12 week timelines
Field Support
- Assist with material pickups and deliveries when needed
- Support jobsite logistics as required
- Gain field exposure to improve planning accuracy
- Assist with punchlist items and warranty work when needed
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination preferred
- Strong computer and systems skills
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and digital tools (Google Sheets preferred)
- Ability to read plans and understand construction processes
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Clear communication with homeowners and teams
- Ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities
