Part Time Facilities Custodian

Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian / Janitor to maintain cleanliness and sanitation within our facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting a safe, organized, and productive work environment for all employees. A clean and well-maintained workplace directly contributes to efficiency, employee morale, and overall operational success.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of cleanliness in a manufacturing setting, and can work independently with consistency and care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors
• Maintain cleanliness of shared break rooms, including countertops, appliances, tables, and floors
• Clean office spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal
• Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as needed
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
• Report any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Degree (GED)
• Work experience in industrial or in commercial work environment
  
  
  

Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:

• Manual skills related to facility maintenance
• Knowledge about basic repair work
• Ability to drive forklift
• Ability to manage time and work in fast pace environment
  
  
  

Preferred additional Education and / or Experience:

• 5 years in a janitorial / facilities upkeep position
• Experience in manufacturing environment
  
  
  

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  
  
  

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  
  
  

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
