- Independently machine complex prototype components.
- Perform complete setups on manual and CNC equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, models, and GD&T requirements.
- Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies.
- Make program modifications and process adjustments.
- Support prototype part development from concept through first article.
- Collaborate directly with engineers on manufacturability concerns.
- Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback.
- Develop and document prototype manufacturing processes.
- Support fitting, finishing, inspection, and assembly activities.
- Assist in training less experienced machinists.
- Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, and process issues.
- Participate in hand-off activities to production teams.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in precision machining highly desirable.
- Strong blueprint reading and advanced GD&T interpretation.
- Proficiency in CNC and manual machining.
- Ability to independently perform setups and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of tooling and fixturing selection.
- Ability to evaluate part manufacturability.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
