ARCH Medical Solutions is seeking a skilled Machinist Wire/EDM to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up and operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment to produce highly precise components used in the medical device industry. What You'll Do
As a Machinist EDM, you will:
- Set up and operate EDM equipment, tooling, fixtures, electrodes, and wire systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
- Verify product quality using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
- Perform program verification and machine setup activities.
- Monitor and adjust burn parameters, flushing systems, and dielectric fluid conditions.
- Control surface finishes and dimensional accuracy to meet customer specifications.
- Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Troubleshoot dimensional issues and support corrective actions.
- Complete required production, quality, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Identify nonconforming conditions and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Support preventive maintenance activities on assigned equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S principles.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet customer expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
- Experience operating EDM equipment, CNC machining equipment, or other precision manufacturing equipment.
- Understanding of GD&T and precision measurement techniques.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other inspection tools.
- Experience in medical device, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience troubleshooting dimensional or process-related issues.
- Producing quality parts right the first time.
- Maintaining excellent documentation and inspection records.
- Consistently following safety and quality procedures.
- Supporting team goals and production schedules.
- Demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and precision work.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.
