Student Worker, Taxation

Job Description

The Student Worker, Taxation is a part-time position and is responsible for basic licensing, permitting, and reporting functions.

Responsibilities

• Update Equipment Master File and other applications in the mainframe system daily.
• Work with the Maintenance and Linehaul Operations Department on entering and managing equipment in the system.
• Scan all titles and registrations into the Index Maintenance System.
• Analyze and reconcile monthly all mileage and odometer discrepancies for IRP tractors.
• Process all lien applications for financed equipment and send supporting documents to lenders.
• Assist in maintaining the IRP Fleet account and completing new equipment IRP applications.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned.
• Assist in processing all equipment purchase title and registration applications and obtain appropriate license plates and weight classes.
• Work with ABF Freight service centers to process annual renewals of equipment at pre-approved gross weights.
• Complete sale memos by assigning titles to buyers and shipping titles via FedEx daily.
• Order replacement plates and ship via FedEx to service centers.
  
  

Requirements

Education:

• Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum overall GPA of 3.25, required
  
  

Computer Skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Completion of Intermediate Accounting I and at least one other junior-level class, required

Other Details

Work Hours

• This is a part time position that will average between 10 - 20 hours per week. Work hours generally fall between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours possible depending on workload.

Compensation

• This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
