Role accountabilities:
The Industrial Water Wastewater Process Engineer should have an understanding of industrial wastewater treatment systems with experience designing water and wastewater projects and preparing construction documents, including mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, control narratives, technical reports, and O&M manuals. Proficient in performing engineering calculations using tools such as Excel and Mathcad, developing equipment and piping specifications, coordinating within multidisciplinary project teams, and providing guidance and mentorship to early-career engineers.

- Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects
- Apply processes and technologies for physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation and crystallization
- Receive technical mentoring and guidance from a senior process engineer
- Delegate engineering or scientific calculations/ drawings to junior staff
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions, and support implementation of projects from study phase through design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operation and maintenance of treatment systems

Proficient in performing engineering calculations using tools such as Excel and Mathcad, developing equipment and piping specifications, coordinating within multidisciplinary project teams, and providing guidance and mentorship to early-career engineers.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in developing and preparing process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, and other technical deliverables for a variety of industrial water projects
- Field work will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing at client sites or in our lab, etc.
- Assist with system commissioning and start-up, including training plant staff
- Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings
- Manage projects as necessary to meet both client and Arcadis’ expectations
- Supporting business development including proposal preparation and meetings with clients, and travel as needed for meetings, site visits, etc. (up to 25%)
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering
- 4 years of progressively increasing responsibility in the industrial water/wastewater field
- Valid driver’s license
- Master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related field of study with focus on wastewater treatment process engineering
- EIT or Professional Engineer registration in one or more states
