Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Document Control / Process Project Engineer for an onsite position supporting a major pharmaceutical project in Kankakee, IL. This role combines construction document control with hands-on quality and process engineering responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring equipment receipt, validation, and refurbishment, while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
Role accountabilities:
- Document Control
- Manage, organize, and maintain all project-related documentation (drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, QA/QC records).
- Ensure compliance with internal document management systems and FDA regulations.
- Track and facilitate approvals, revisions, and distribution of controlled documents.
- Equipment Management & Quality
- Oversee the verification and documentation of equipment receipt.
- Manage Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) documentation processes.
- Track and coordinate the refurbishment of equipment that has been stored for extended periods (~7 years).
- Support and document validation activities for refurbished equipment, ensuring all regulatory and quality standards are met.
- Project Engineering
- Collaborate with construction, quality, and engineering teams to execute project deliverables.
- Participate in technical reviews and support resolution of equipment or process-related issues.
- Provide technical documentation and reporting to both internal and client stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Process, or related field) or equivalent technical discipline.
- Strong industry experience in pharmaceuticals or a related regulated sector.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with FDA compliance and cGMP standards.
- Direct experience with construction document control and/or QA/QC processes.
- Technical background with ability to understand process engineering and equipment validation (preference for process engineers or similar technical profiles).
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex documentation.
