Arcadis is currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join our Architecture and Planning Group within the Global Places Business Area (GBA) in either of our offices located in Seattle or Houston
We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
In this role, you will be a key member of a project delivery team providing technical leadership to the commercial function during the design and execution phase of projects. Your work will contribute to the successful completion of the project.

Role accountabilities:
- Champion the consistent adoption of Arcadis Way processes and tools across all projects, focusing on the Delivery to Result stages.
- Lead regular project and month-end reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, operational KPIs, and project management discipline.
- Take ownership of project reviews, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain high project delivery standards.
- Monitor commercial metrics and support business plan targets by partnering with project teams to drive financial performance for units up to ~$75m net revenue.
- Advise Practice Group Managers and the Country Operations Director on commercial performance and operational management.
- Develop and promote a culture of risk identification and management, providing guidance and escalating project concerns as appropriate, especially for projects below $5m.
- Lead the preparation and review of business performance reports, providing clear analytics and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
- Analyze data trends and prepare insights to inform operational and commercial management strategies.
- Collaborate with enabling functions and business leaders to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performance culture and encouraging continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, RICS) is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in operations, project management, or commercial management within the architecture, engineering, or construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of the Arcadis Way project governance frameworks and best practices is essential.
- Demonstrated ability in commercial strategy, financial processes, and achieving business targets.
- Proven experience in identifying, managing, and mitigating project and business risks.
- Proficiency with project finance, forecasting, and relevant financial tools is required.
- Established track record in leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective in collaborating across functions and engaging with senior leaders and technical teams.
- Experience in driving process improvements and operational excellence within a business unit.
