Role description:
We are seeking a skilled DeltaV Automation Engineer to join our team supporting a leading pharmaceutical client in Worcester, MA. This role is critical for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of manufacturing operations through the design, implementation, and maintenance of Emerson DeltaV.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the pharma or biotech industry and a deep understanding of GMP, automation best practices, and process control.
Role accountabilities:
DeltaV System Design & Implementation
- Develop, configure, and test DeltaV DCS solutions for new and existing manufacturing processes.
- Create and modify automation logic, graphics, alarms, and reports.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
System Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for DeltaV systems, including hardware and software issues.
- Respond to and resolve system alarms, operational issues, and user queries promptly.
Project Execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process, validation, IT, and operations) to deliver automation projects on time.
- Develop technical documentation: specifications, test plans, SOPs, and change controls.
Compliance & Validation
- Ensure automation systems are compliant with GMP, FDA, and internal quality standards.
- Participate in validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ and audit support.
Continuous Improvement
- Propose and implement improvements for system reliability, cybersecurity, and process optimization.
- Stay current with DeltaV and industry automation advancements.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.
- 3 years of hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Strong background in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing automation.
- Proficient in DeltaV configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networking is a plus.
- Knowledge of GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and CSV processes.
