We are seeking a Streaming Operations Manager to establish and lead a new Service
Delivery function for Sony Pictures Consumer Platforms & Services. This role will play a
critical part in enabling successful content launches, promotional campaigns, live events,
and platform enhancements while ensuring a seamless viewing experience for our
customers.
The Streaming Operations Manager will establish and oversee release management,
incident response, and operational readiness processes while serving as the direct
manager of the Network Operations Center (NOC). This role will play a critical part in
enabling successful content launches, promotional campaigns, live events, and platform
enhancements while ensuring a seamless viewing experience for our customers.
This is a highly collaborative leadership role requiring coordination and influence across
Product, Engineering, Marketing, Programming, Monetization, Content Operations, and
Infrastructure teams.
Job Responsibilities:
· Own the operational health, availability, and performance of Sony Pictures' direct-
to-consumer streaming platforms.
· Lead operational readiness planning for major content premieres, live events,
marketing tentpoles, and significant product releases.
· Establish and manage release and change management processes that ensure
appropriate testing, approvals, risk assessment, and deployment readiness.
· Ensure comprehensive rollback planning, launch support, and post-release
monitoring for all production deployments.
· Drive continuous improvement of release practices to minimize customer impact
while accelerating delivery velocity.
· Lead incident response activities, including stakeholder communications, root
cause analysis, postmortems, and corrective action planning.
· Drive root-cause analysis, postmortems, and partner with Product Management
and PMO to prioritize and track continuous improvement initiatives.
· Manage the Network Operations Center (NOC), including monitoring practices,
escalation procedures, operational workflows, staffing, and performance
management.
· Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, Marketing,
Programming, Content Operations, and Infrastructure teams to ensure platform
reliability and a high-quality customer experience.· Establish frameworks, metrics, and reporting to improve Mean Time to Detect
(MTTD), Mean Time to Restore (MTTR), and overall service reliability.
· Develop and maintain operational dashboards and reporting that provide visibility
into incidents, release performance, platform health, and service availability.
· Report regularly on operational performance, incident trends, platform uptime, and
progress toward service-level objectives, including maintaining 99.9% availability.
Job Qualifications:
· 5 years of experience in operations, service delivery, streaming operations,
production operations, or program management within OTT platforms or digital
video services.
· 2 years of experience managing operational teams, NOCs, or service management
organizations.
· Familiarity with streaming ecosystems including channel delivery pipelines,
metadata workflows, and content distribution infrastructure.
· Remarkable clarity and accuracy in written and verbal communication. You are
comfortable translating between the technical team and the business.
· Experience using project management and collaboration tools including Jira,
Confluence, Monday.com, Tableau, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.
· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced
environment and influence stakeholders across functional teams.
· Possesses a broadcast mentality, understanding streaming services are always on
and customer expectations never pause. Demonstrates urgency, accountability,
and ownership.
Preferred
· ITIL, SRE, Agile, or DevOps certifications.
· Experience operating FAST platforms.
· Experience working with streaming technology vendors or media delivery platforms.
Salary : $145,000 - $150,000
