We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and addressing their needs promptly.
- Manage multi-line phone systems, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries with professionalism and clarity.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process insurance claims using E Clinical Works.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including filing, documentation review, and data entry
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks by applying CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes accurately for billing purposes.
- Support administrative functions such as patient intake, appointment scheduling, faxing, filing, and managing office supplies.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations by reviewing documentation thoroughly and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and care plan coordination.
Skills
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical billing procedures.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and Medicare guidelines.
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Experience in dental or hospital settings is a plus; familiarity with dental terminology or hospital workflows is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and data accuracy.
