Overview
We are seeking compassionate individuals for our Day Program as Direct Support Professionals make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Duties
- Ensure the safety, health, and success of the participants
- Assist individuals with with activities, basic life skills, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and participate in community outings
- Document and monitor individuals' progress, and maintaining regular, clear communication with staff, clients' family members, and other involved parties
- Taking the individuals to community outings while representing the company in a professional and positive manner and also participating in activities
- Providing transportation using company provided vehicle
- Implement medication administration protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations and care plans
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly
- Uphold clients' rights and promote independence
- Engage in social activities to promote social skills and community integration, and companionship
- Assist with lifting and transferring clients as required
- Knowledge of clients care practices and procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility needs
- Knowledge of consumer care techniques including CPR and First Aid is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor
- Ability to follow care plans and maintain accurate documentation
Position Requirements:
Candidates...
- Must have experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Must have DSP training, 1 year required, 2 years preferred
- Must have valid CA driver's license and a clean driving record
- Must pass fingerprint clearance and physical, including a TB-test
- Must be responsible, reliable, and respectful
