We are seeking energetic and compassionate Flexible Hours Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team! In this vital role, you will deliver personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs, empowering them to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. This position offers flexible scheduling options to accommodate your availability while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual’s needs, promoting positive behaviors and emotional well-being
- Assist with communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), to facilitate effective interactions
- Support individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and cognitive disabilities through engaging activities and socialization
- Collect data on progress and behavior patterns to inform care plans and ensure consistent support
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols when necessary and authorized
- Drive clients safely to appointments, community outings, or activities using provided transportation
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks and assist with ADLs effectively and compassionately
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and data collection methods
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record for transportation duties
- Experience in home or community care environments is highly desirable
- Ability to adapt quickly in dynamic settings while maintaining a positive attitude
