The Arc of South Florida provides educational and therapeutic services in center-based settings to children with developmental delays and disabilities. We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team of highly skilled therapists. We are a diverse, multidisciplinary team serving a pediatric population from birth through 18 years. - Operating hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (flexible hours within this range)
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in providing therapeutic services, including implementing treatment plans and activities tailored to each child's unique needs
- Engage and motivate children during therapy sessions, working constructively to help them achieve their highest level of function
- Document patient progress using electronic records management systems and ensure accuracy in reporting
- Communicate effectively with team members and family members, contributing to a supportive environment for patient growth
Skills:
- Previous experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, preferably with a pediatric focus
- Familiarity with assessment tools and ability to conduct high-quality, supportive evaluations
- Passionate about continuous learning and professional growth in clinical practices
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (bilingual in English and Spanish preferred)
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Must be willing to enroll as an Early Steps provider, if required.
- Maintain professional liability insurance of $1M-$3M, with the ability to obtain a COI (coverage of insurance) and include The Arc of South Florida. If enrolled as an Early Steps provider, candidates must add Easter Seals as an additional insured on their policy.
