Substitute Teacher

Job Purpose:
- The Substitute Teacher at ARC Human Services is responsible for providing instruction and managing classroom environments in the absence of regular teachers. This role is crucial in maintaining the continuity of education and ensuring that students receive quality learning experiences even when their regular educators are unavailable.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver lesson plans and educational materials provided by the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on track with their curriculum.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment, addressing any issues that arise promptly and effectively.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs, ensuring all students have the opportunity to understand and engage with the material.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to provide updates on student progress and any concerns that may need addressing.
- Follow school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students and staff.
- Attend any necessary meetings or training sessions to stay informed about school policies and educational strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and any incidents that occur during the class.

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with an associate degree or equivalent coursework in education or child development may also be considered.

Required Experience:
- Prior experience working in an educational setting, preferably as a substitute teacher or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom environment effectively and maintain discipline.
- Experience in adapting lesson plans and teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and curriculum guidelines provided by the regular teacher.

Salary : $24 - $31
