What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Closer position at Arc Home LLC?
Arc Home is adding an experienced Mortgage Closer to our Team in our Moorestown, NJ office. Hours are 9:30am - 6:00pm, eastern time, working a hybrid schedule of Mondays - Wednesdays in the office and Thursdays and Fridays remote.
We're looking for someone with at least 2 years of current or relatively recent experience as a Closer, who can take direction, then work independently, who's excellent organization, time management and problem-solving skills help them navigate a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities.
In addition to the base pay listed, the Closer position is eligible for a commission plan that pays monthly.
The Closer oversees the smooth and efficient closing process. Key duties include preparing, sending, and tracking Closing Disclosures, ensuring accuracy in closing instructions to agents, coordinating with third-party entities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare, send and track Closing Disclosures
- Prepare Closing Package, review to ensure all instructions to closing agent are accurate
- Prepare all closing documents for borrower/title company
- Ensure all loans pass required compliance tests
- Schedule or confirm closing date with the title company/closing agent
- Coordinate file review with third party law firm, where applicable
- Review cash to close and ensure verified assets are sufficient to cover the cash to close
- Prepare funding worksheet
- Track and clear closing conditions in a timely manner
- Ensure loans close and disburse the day after funding
- Pull documents required by warehouse banks to fund the loan (for example, Note, AUS, CPL) and drop documents in shared drive for funders
- Communicate (both oral and written) with clients, brokers, closing agents, and title companies all necessary information to close loans
- Perform other closing related tasks as necessary or requested by Management
Position Qualifications:
Skills/Competencies:
- Ability to work as a team player, maintain a positive attitude, listening & comprehension skills, detail oriented, sense of urgency.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workflow, multi-task in a deadline-based environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized with excellent communication, phone and customer service skills.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with loan industry software, in addition to a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Must have current knowledge of loan closing and documentation procedures and have solid math and calculation skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of residential mortgage closing experience.
- Strong knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, USDA, FHA, VA and State Housing lending guidelines and requirements, first/second liens, home improvement and home equity loans. Non-QM experience is a plus.
- Must be knowledgeable with current TRID policy & procedures; HUD-1 experience is a plus
- HELOC closing experience is a plus
