What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior QA Engineer / QA Lead position at ARC Healthcare Technologies?
Job Description
Are you the kind of QA professional who takes ownership of product quality instead of simply executing test cases? Do you enjoy building structure, improving processes, and helping engineering teams ship reliable software with confidence?
At ARC Healthcare Technologies, we are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to help establish and lead quality assurance practices across our healthcare inventory management platform — both for our existing enterprise solution and the next-generation platform currently under development.
This is an opportunity to play a foundational role in shaping how QA is done within our engineering organization.
About the Work
Our platform helps healthcare organizations manage critical inventory and supply workflows in real time by integrating RFID readers, barcode scanners, and Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) with leading ERP and EHR systems including Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Lawson, Epic, Allscripts, and Meditech.
ARC has a long history building enterprise healthcare software on Microsoft technologies including C# and MS SQL Server. As we continue evolving toward a modern containerized platform architecture, we are investing in stronger quality practices, automation, and release processes across both our existing and future systems.
We are looking for someone who can help us build and mature those practices from the ground up.
What We're Looking For
We need someone who combines strong hands-on testing skills with a process-oriented mindset. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure where it does not yet fully exist.
You should be comfortable:
- Designing and executing test strategies
- Investigating complex integration and data issues
- Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders
- Helping define QA standards, workflows, and best practices
- Balancing manual testing with long-term automation improvements
This is not a role where you will simply follow an established QA playbook — you will help create it.
The ideal candidate is curious, organized, highly analytical, and takes pride in improving both product quality and engineering processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans covering functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end workflows
- Help establish and evolve QA processes, standards, and best practices across the engineering organization
- Validate data integrity and system integrations across ERP and EHR platforms
- Test hardware-adjacent workflows involving RFID readers, barcode scanners, and ESL devices
- Investigate defects, document issues clearly, and coordinate resolution efforts with developers
- Participate in release validation and production readiness processes
- Contribute to the long-term strategy for automated testing and QA tooling
- Build and maintain automated test suites as the platform and engineering processes mature
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to define testable acceptance criteria
- Support quality initiatives across both existing on-premise systems and next-generation cloud-based applications
Required Experience
- 5 years of QA experience in enterprise software environments
- Strong experience testing APIs, integrations, and complex business workflows
- Solid SQL skills with the ability to independently investigate and trace data-related issues
- Experience creating test plans, test cases, and structured QA processes
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality initiatives
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Postman/Newman, or similar tools
- Experience testing cloud-hosted or containerized applications
Helpful Additional Experience
- Experience helping establish or improve QA practices within a growing engineering organization
- Healthcare IT experience, especially EHR or ERP integrations
- Familiarity with RFID, barcode, inventory management, or hardware-adjacent systems
- Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
- ISTQB certification or equivalent experience
Education
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Benefits
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Health Insurance

- FSA program available
- Paid PTO and holidays
- Flexible work environment

- Opportunity to help shape engineering quality practices in a growing healthcare technology company
