Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care across various settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and specialized units such as ICU, Emergency Room, and Pediatrics. The RN will utilize advanced clinical skills, medical terminology knowledge, and EMR/EHR systems proficiency to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Experience with diverse medical procedures such as IV infusion, suturing, catheterization, and infection control is essential. A strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards is required to ensure compliance and quality care. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform phlebotomy with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Manage airway interventions, ventilator support, tube feeding, and ostomy or catheter care as needed.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning.
- Perform diagnostic procedures including laboratory specimen collection/processing and basic medical imaging support like sonography or mammography.
- Provide specialized care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Participate in discharge planning, case management, health coaching, and post-acute or hospice & palliative medicine services.
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing medical records and documentation.
- Assist in emergency situations utilizing skills in airway management and basic life support (BLS).
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice.
- Extensive experience across multiple clinical settings such as ICU (Level I & II Trauma Center), emergency room (ER), medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics, or home & community care environments.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience administering injections, IV insertion/infusion therapy, suturing skills preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations including children (neonatal ventilator support), seniors (geriatrics & memory care), individuals with disabilities or complex chronic conditions such as dialysis or ostomy care.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing procedures required for safe patient management.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and other relevant specialties are mandatory; additional certifications like ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments such as trauma centers or urgent care settings is highly desirable.
