Summary
This is a highly skilled position that requires a thorough understanding of building and repairing internal mold components with experience in programming strategies and machining processes and approaches within a manufacturing environment.
Essential Function
- Manage equipment utilization with Tooling Supervisor.
- Set up, program and operate CNC equipment in the tool room to build mold components.
- Works to tight tolerances, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
- Maintain and repair existing molds as instructed.
- Builds or modifies molds and mold components.
- Ability to trouble shoot problem areas and effectively communicate in a timely manner.
- Adheres to established tool room practices and safety procedures.
- Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times with the ability to give/receive job related constructive feedback.
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associates degree or a trade school background in the machining/tooling field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two (2) yrs. experience REQUIRED.
- Previous CNC machining experience with a strong mechanical aptitude REQUIRED.
- Ability to read and understand CAD drawings and tooling blue prints.
- Previous experience building and repairing plastic injection molds from conception through design and manufacture of the mold.
- Must provide your own precision measuring tools required to measure and verify the tooling produced.
- Basic computer/software operation capability such as MS Windows & MS Office application.
- A Self-motivated team player willing and eager to learn is a must. .
- Demonstrated skill to perform detailed work with accuracy and in a timely manner under limited supervision. .
- Knowledge of Tooling Shop safety procedures and practices.
- Highly motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize workload.
- Great work ethic with consistent good attendance; Ability to work outside of the normal schedule, to include nights, weekends, as needed to meet customer demands.
- Ability to work in a goal-oriented team environment; Demonstrated interpersonal skills to deal effectively with personnel at all levels within an organization.
- Willingness and ability to lift approximately 70 lbs.
- Willingness to stand to perform job functions for extended periods of time.
