Duties
- Review project plans, specifications, and electrical drawings to develop comprehensive estimates
- Utilize estimating Conest software to prepare detailed cost proposals
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs for electrical materials and labor requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine project scope and pricing strategies
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and terms
- Analyze project risks, identify potential cost overruns, and implement effective cost control measures
- Prepare bid packages, proposals, and contracts that accurately reflect project needs and company standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems within commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety standards
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of construction processes, site management, and contract negotiations
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms with vendors and subcontractors
- Ability to interpret complex electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Effective project management skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Construction site experience is preferred to better understand on-the-ground realities of electrical installations
- Familiarity with cost control practices, pricing strategies, and contract management principles
