We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and field-savvy ‘Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Engineer’ to join our team. While we provide training on tools like Navisworks and Revit, a strong foundation in construction practices and on-site experience is key to success in this role.

This role is primarily office based, with some required visits to jobsites in Buffalo and potential travel to visit our jobsites in NJ and Philadelphia.

Position Overview:
The ‘Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Engineer’ plays a key role in leading 3D coordination efforts and developing visual tools that bring construction plans to life. You will work directly with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design consultants to identify and resolve design clashes, improve sequencing, and enhance site logistics planning through model-based solutions. This role bridges field experience with cutting-edge technology to streamline project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1-3 years of field experience in construction (Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar).
Strong understanding of construction drawings, phasing, and site logistics.
Willingness to learn VDC software (Navisworks, Revit, CM Builder, Synchro, etc.)
Familiarity with BIM/VDC software and coordination workflows preferred.
Experience With 3D/4D Modeling And Visualization Tools Preferred.
Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Self-starter with a detail-oriented mindset.
Compensation:
$80,000 - $100,000 - commensurate with experience.

- 3D Coordination & Model Management:
- Lead and manage the 3D coordination process across all project phases.
- Identify and resolve clashes using model-based tools.
- Conduct and facilitate regular coordination meetings with design and trade partners.
- Assist in developing site logistics plans and visual 4D schedules to support project sequencing.
- Create model-based visualizations that align with field activities.
- Translate field operations knowledge into effective VDC strategies.
- Work closely with superintendents, PMs, and trade partners to ensure models reflect real-time job site conditions.
- Review construction drawings for constructability and integration with models.
- Maintain and manage model files, versioning, and documentation.
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and transparency.
1-3 years of field experience in construction (Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar).
