Position Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Greenville, SC
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt, 7:00 AM -3:00 PM, Monday-Friday
Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000
Reports To: Quality Manager

Position Overview
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the inspection, acceptance, and release of conforming products through the application of proven quality assurance techniques. This role operates independently, utilizing technical expertise in inspection methods, engineering drawings, and quality documentation to support the organization’s standards for excellence in precision machining. The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct product inspection and layout using appropriate devices and techniques
- Interpret engineering drawings and apply specifications and control plans
- Ensure proper control of nonconforming products
- Develop and maintain CMM programs
- Support Contract Review and Traveler Packet Review processes
- Participate in Quality Planning by ballooning drawings and developing control plans
- Assist in the creation of process aids and quality documentation
- Train operators in the correct use of inspection tools and methods
- Investigate and resolve quality concerns, supporting corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain part accountability and traceability
- Support Internal Audit efforts
- Accurately document and report inspection and verification results (manual or digital)
- Comply with and promote all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of inspection and layout experience in a manufacturing setting
- At least three (3) years of hands-on CMM programming and operation experience preferred
- Familiarity with Gage Calibration, Statistical Methods, and Gage R&R studies
- Strong technical writing skills and experience creating process documentation
- Practical experience in ISO 9000-based Quality Management Systems (AS9100 & NADCAP preferred)
- This position requires compliance with U.S. export laws. Applicants must be U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or other protected individuals as defined by ITAR).
Education & Professional Development
- High school diploma and at least one (1) year of college-level technical training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Membership in ASQ or similar technical organizations is desirable
- Relevant life and job experience will be considered during the hiring process
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
- Skilled in the use and calibration of a variety of precision inspection devices
- Comfortable working independently and with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
Physical Requirements
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers for repetitive tasks
- Average visual acuity for inspecting documents, parts, or using computers
- Able to hear and respond to normal conversational levels
- Primarily sedentary work, with occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs
