Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, planting, and turf care to keep grounds looking their best.
- Support tree care activities such as pruning, trimming, and planting using specialized tools like chainsaws and pruning shears.
- Operate equipment including bucket trucks and other landscaping machinery safely and efficiently for tasks like tree trimming or elevated work.
- Conduct rigging procedures for lifting and positioning large plants or equipment with proper safety protocols.
- Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to map out planting areas or track maintenance activities for efficient planning.
- Perform routine lawn care duties such as aeration, fertilization, watering, and weed control to promote healthy growth.
- Assist with landscape design projects by preparing sites, planting new greenery, and maintaining existing plantings with growing experience in horticulture and dendrology.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of plant pruning care, tree trimming techniques, and general tree care practices.
- Experience operating bucket trucks safely for elevated tasks and bucket operation proficiency.
- Familiarity with rigging procedures for lifting heavy or awkward objects in outdoor environments.
- Ability to identify various tree species through dendrology knowledge and apply appropriate maintenance techniques.
- Basic understanding of GIS applications for landscape planning or asset management.
- Hands-on experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general landscaping practices.
- Growing experience in horticulture or related fields with a passion for plant health and landscape aesthetics.
