Duties
- Perform pest control treatments and pesticide applications following all safety protocols and regulations
- Conduct thorough inspections of landscapes to identify pest issues, plant diseases, and health concerns
- Learn to evaluate and diagnose tree health and structure concerns.
- Utilize and operate urban forestry equipment safely and effectively during treatments and maintenance tasks
- Handle chemical agents responsibly, including mixing, application, storage, and disposal in accordance with pesticide management standards.
- Operate company vehicles for transportation to job sites while adhering to driving safety procedures
- Implement integrated pest management strategies to provide environmentally sustainable solutions for clients
- Maintain detailed records of treatments performed, chemicals used, and safety procedures followed
Experience
- Plant Health Care Technicians (Experienced and Trainees) -VDACS Registered Technician or Commercial applicators. Individuals motivated to work towards VDACS licensing.
- Prior outdoor work experience in lawn care, horticulture, arboriculture, landscaping, or agriculture preferred
- Knowledge of pest control methods, pesticide application techniques, and entomology fundamentals required
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery, power tools, and hand tools
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about treatment plans and landscape health
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles confidently and safely
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Self-motivated, career-oriented, and able to work well on a team
